Hello!

So you’ve read about why I love photography, now let’s get a little personal!

I am from North Carolina and have lived in various cities within NC. I am a mother of one daughter. My daughter is deaf, but she has cochlear implants to help her hear like you and I. I also have a dog, a toy Australian shepherd. I absolutely love photography but in addition to that I work full-time as a registered nurse. I’ve been a nurse for 8 years. My passion is caring for people. Most of us know that healthcare can be very demanding, photography is a positive outlet for me. The pandemic has shown me that it’s important to practice self-care and to do things that bring me joy.  I adore taking photos of individuals in their happiest moments.

How it all started...

I've been a photographer all of my life. I have always enjoyed taking nature-like photos. I absolutely love sunset and landscape photos. My love for portrait photography grew in 2021.

My cousin asked me to photograph her engagement session in October 2021. This was my first portrait session. That's when I knew I can use my gift in a different and memorable way. Sundara Spirit Photography, previously named Spirit Photography NC, LLC, was established in 2021. It was one of the best decisions I ever made.

What is your favorite hobby?

Photography, of course! I also enjoy practicing mindfulness by using aromatherapy and meditation techniques.

If you could go anywhere in the world, where would it be?

Paris, France. I would love to see the Eiffel Tower.

If you could only eat one type of food for the rest of your life, what would it be?

I would say Indian food. I love curry!

Do you have any hidden talents?

I can do various hairstyles. When I was younger, around 10 years old, my grandmother always asked me to do her hair before bed. I still remember those moments. Unfortunately, she passed away in 2020 but I still enjoy reminiscing about the special times we shared together.

What is the biggest risk you've taken?

Over time I’ve became more fearful of roller coasters. My last roller coaster ride was so risky, I was terrified. It was called Mako at SeaWorld in Florida.

What is your favorite animal and why?

Dogs because they are so loving and animated. I have a toy Australian shepherd named Spirit.

Do you collect anything?

I collect candles! I love candles.

How many siblings do you have?

I have one brother, he’s 7 years younger than me.

What is one thing you've learned that you wish you could tell your younger self?

Don’t allow others to speak negatively over your life. Keep striving for more!

What do you want people to remember about you?

I want to make an impact on the lives of others in every aspect of my life. I want to make a difference as a mother, nurse and photographer.
